Pickle Parade & Royal Coronation

The festival’s announcement coincides with Pickle Time Week, a national observance established in 1949 by the Pickle Packers Association to celebrate the country’s long-standing pickle tradition.

Dressing up as a pickle is encouraged, and festivalgoers are invited to come as a Pickle King, Pickle Queen, or their own creative pickle character. All guests who arrive in costume can participate in the Pickle Parade, which will lead to the main stage for the crowning of New Jersey’s first Pickle King and Pickle Queen, a spin-off of the tradition started in 1949 during Pickle Time Week.

For the first time in New Jersey, Pickle Palooza will crown official festival royalty—individuals who embody the fun, enthusiasm, and community spirit of the event.
The Pickle King and Queen will be selected based on:
• Genuine love of pickles
• Enthusiasm and personality
• Pickle Talent, which may include pickle jokes, pickle poetry, pickle fashion, or any creative pickle-themed performance
• Overall community spirit and willingness to embrace the festival’s playful atmosphere
